The Watford Speakers Club is a club that helps people become confident communicators, whether it’s in front of a large audience or in one to one communications.
We achieve this by using the tried and proven methods of our parent organisation “Toastmasters International”
Each member works their way through a manual of ten speeches at their own pace.
We generally do three types of speaking.
- Set speeches with the focus of the speech directed by the manual.
- Evaluations of other people’s speeches to help them develop as speakers.
- Table topics, to improve the skill of thinking on your feet, and speaking “when you're on the spot”.
As soon as you’re a member you can start on your Communication and Leadership Manual (the first ten speeches).
When you’ve worked your way through it you have the option to do any of 15 Advanced manuals, which focus on a special form of speaking such as management, sales, reading , humour and interpersonal communication for example.
Also you will be able to learn a whole new set of skills such as leading a meeting, giving balanced feedback and thinking on your feet.
There’s no limit to what you can achieve.
We meet at 7.15 for 7.30pm on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month at:
The Newton Price Centre
Grosvenor Road

There is a one time only joining fee of £15.00 and £35 per 6 months pro rata payable at the start of January and July.
